X-Files Collector’s Fic: IVF Successes (Poll Results 3rd)
This list was inspired by this poll, sharing 3rd place with post-Tithonus Mother Hen Mulder.
Successful IVF fics are my life’s blood (…okay, all of these Poll Result Fics are my favorites, but–); and there are, fortunately, so many good ones that I love to reread over and over.
I could go on and on about each and every detail I love about each and every one of these fics; but it would take eons. Instead, let’s go!
Loose chronological order below~
**Note**: Will ghost edit later~.
“"Which room tonight?”
She smiles, eyes closed. “Living room.”
He starts, slowly, to scratch her back. “The older kids have a soccer tournament this weekend,” he begins, speaking in the soft monotone that feels like a back scratch in itself. “They came in with their cleats on and tracked mud everywhere and you got mad.”
He feels her grin and gathers her closer.”“
Mulder weaves bedtime stories about their Imaginary House filled with kids, a dog, filling food, and a skylight window on the first floor of a two story-house.

2016 Fictober Drabbles - Chapter 8 (Ao3)
”“The first time, Mulder had stayed in their basement office during the procedure, and later, when she’d learned that it hadn’t taken, she’d informed him by phone. The second time, he’d driven her to the doctor’s and waited in the car. He’d offered to come in with her, but she’d turned him down. There had still been no discussion regarding what they’ll do if the procedure works- she hadn’t seen any point in making any decisions when they didn’t even know if it would be necessary- and with his potential involvement still undecided, she’s not completely comfortable having him there.”“
Mulder prevents Scully from giving in to despair, asking to pay for her third IVF attempt and opening up their relationship to more.
”“Mulder blows straight past Dr. Parenti’s receptionist, with Scully doing her best to ignore the sharp pains in her gut and keep up. In his fury, he’s forgotten her still-healing injury, and from the look he’d had on his face when he’d gotten out of the car, he’s not likely to remember it anytime soon.
She’s never seen him this furious.
Inside Parenti’s office, Mulder doesn’t pause before grabbing the doctor, lifting him bodily from his desk chair, and slamming him against the wall. He brandishes the test results in the terrified man’s face.
“Who do you work for?” Mulder demands. “Whose orders were you following when you did this to my partner? To our child?”“
A S6 chapter by chapter epic where Mulder and Scully battle their way through their failing IVF attempts and loss of the X-Files; but what almost breaks them is when Mulder slips up to Diana, who then sells this information to her Consortium higher-ups. (The Tithonus and Sixth Extinction chapters left an imprint on my mind forever. Stunning work, @sunflowerseedsandscience– you left a mark on my mind forever~.)
there is a plethora of good x-files fanfics out there and i’ve just started to develop the problem of reading a very good one and not being able to find it again. because of this - and because all of these are genuinely novel worthy and the writers are INSANELY talented - i’ve decided to compile a list of some of my absolute favorites. some of these are from ao3 & some of them i found on other websites, such as x-libris and the gossamer project. i hope you enjoy these as much as i did and do. they mean the world to my romantic heart.
- incrementum by lepusarcticus (explicit) - this was the first x-files fanfic i ever remember reading. i was trying desperately not to spoil the show for myself and i found out that this fic followed along the narrative, which was a godsend. i got the best of both worlds: a delectable, angsty passionate mulder/scully fic (in which they fucked from day 1) and no spoilers. it was so so so so fun reading this alongside watching the show. this writer is brilliant
I made this

And not every one is the average person there is still room for different things inside levels!
If any one can reblog this reblog that says that cause I didnt realise or think to put that stuff in but it confused some one but I know its important now so know this part
Reblog to avoid confusion ☝🏼
[ID: an overview about the 3 autism levels compared to each other. Level One is on the left, Level Two in the middle and Level Three on the right.
Level One: Requiring Support
Autistic Traits
Social

I struggle with making and keeping friendships and relationships.
Behaviour
I may have sensory issues and struggle with loud sounds, bright lights, bad textures, etc.
I need to fidget and move around a lot, even when I don’t have surplus energy, or I may feel the need to but have been trained out of acting on it.
I have strong and specific interests; I usually only like one or a few things at a time and these interests last for years.
I may shutdown where I lose the ability to speak.
Changes distress me, but unless I am already having a hard time I can cope if I am given some time to process.
Development
I was most likely in general education with or without an IEP, or had my time split between general and special education.
I may have needed speech or occupational therapy or support services, but likely did not.
I may have had developmental delays, but I also may have hit milestones on time or early.
I have high, normal, or low intelligence.

Note: Since my old masterlist is getting notes again (and I’m hosting @tbb-appreciation-week this year), I thought it’s a good time to release a new version with a lot more resources. If any of you know another site or thing that it’s missing from the list, let me know and I’ll include it!! [Altho, I’m getting this close 🤏 to the hyperlinks limit on this thing 😆]
Note 2: To avoid tagging the 3 people from whom I got multiple resources repeatedly, I’ve placed 1-3 asterisks between square brackets after the links, depending on the OP. I give the respective credit to them in a legend at the end of the post.

HELPFUL BLOGS & SITES
- The amazing @fox-trot, who not only makes astonishing art and write an amazing fic, she also responds to medical questions and gives all kinds of references for writing medic characters. Check her #medicposting tag and you’ll find tons of information. Also check #star wars reference and her art tag while you’re at it.
- @writebetterstarwars, which seems to be inactive, but there are a bunch of references there.
- @howtofightwrite The place to find out how to write a good fight scene.
- @scriptmedic no longer active, but it has a great deal of useful information.
- @scripttorture for your whump needs. Major trigger warning for all its content.
- @sw-anthrobiology A blog dedicated to collecting headcanons about the biology and cultures of Star Wars species.
- @archeo-starwars In-universe sources on culture and history.
- @clonewarsarchives Resources & Concept Art Blog for The Clone Wars animated series.
- Wookiepedia If you don’t find something in here, it’s probably because it doesn’t exist, neither as a canon nor legends reference.
- Star Wars Databank: The official Star Wars website’s reference guide. All canon.
WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don’t want to die like Stormtroopers)
- SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
- ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I’ve ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn’t mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you’re writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.
- LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn’t raise any flags; it’s very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn’t feel quite right.
- Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.
